Hello "h" and cold snowy Midwest greetings to you. This note is so overdue, but I am grateful to still have this opportunity. My wife Kristie and I came to the band's Marbles show Nov 2004 in Chicago. We were able to stay after the show and meet you guys at the tour bus out back for autographs. When we got up to you to sign Marble CD book, I had a moment of inspiration to ask you what a good name would be for a girl, as my wife was 6 mos pregnant with what of all things, a girl! I didn't have this planned. I thought that you might have the answer. Well, you shared that you have always liked the name Sofie and that in fact was your daughter's name, and spelled with an "F"; we did ask you how it was spelled. Being that long ago I'm not 100% of it, but believe we already had name under consideration. When you said it, we looked at each other & knew that was it. There was never other consideration (hardly) of any other names. Sofie Linn will be turning 13 next week, and I am forever grateful to have come to the show, stayed after, and had the nerve to ask you. Looking back at the tour history, I see that you, Rothery, and Trewalas returned to Chicago the following June as Los Trios Marillos. I do regret that I didn't make that show and thanked you personally; I would like to think that have been the right and appointed time (I probably would have asked you to be honorary godfather). Our Sofie is a beautiful girl, inside and out, loves gymnastics (she was Excel State Champion in 2016), and I just really shared the story with her last night. She was able find your daughter Sofi on Instagram and share our story. As our daughter's namesake, we wish her the best and happiness in life and vocation. I know that she sings, backing vocals on F.E.A.R. So, THANK YOU "h" for taking the time back in 2004 and sharing with us. I love your voice so much and the band, and look forward to the show next week in Detroit, Michigan! (crazy, don't have to drive & stay in Chicago to see you)

The best of form and luck on the us tour!

Some discussion about Happiness tour 2009 on local forum here and I suddenly remembered few empik meetings..And one accoustic gig in front of empik in Cracow with the thunder when you were singing )))
Funny how buckets of memories sit deep in there somewhere to crawl out suddenly!
I will wait and see what is next!
Hard to live through no- gig year :-( after the intensity of 2017
But yes, the memories :-)

Have a blast out there

Hugs
A

Hi Steve, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your gig in Toxteth on Dec 1st 2017. I've been to three of your intimate church shows in Liverpool and loved them all, however I don't appear to have the courage to shout out a song for you to play. I will promise this year (if you play in Liverpool again) to request The Sky Above the Rain. It's one of my favourite Marillion songs and to hear it stripped to the bare bones would be spine tingling. So if you remember (haha) and you hear that request then that'll be me.
I only had £7 cash on me that night too which left me a few quid short to buy your Invisible Man diaries book and I didn't want to embarrass myself and your friends by not offering the full amount. I now have that extra £3 but can I find a copy of the book anywhere? Can i eckers like. So if you've got any hanging around the house would you mind selling me one please?!! I'd be really grateful. Please email me petewarb75@gmail.com
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas in Scandinavia and here's to a wonderful 2018. I have my ticket for Marillion at Liverpool Philharmonic hall so I'm massively looking forward to that. I've pre ordered the Brave cd/bluray and can't wait for the release of the Albert Hall bluray (i missed out on a ticket for that show by 5 minutes )
Bye for now, take care, P.

Entry no. 623 from Muriel & Stephane from Neuville en Ferrain (near Lille in France) on December 23, 2017 at 2:50 pm

Dear H,
Muriel and Stéphane from France here.
We wish you a merry Christmas and a wonderful end-of-year holiday for you and your family. We simply want to say thank you for this beautiful year of music in your company. It was a very special and memorable year, the Lodz convention where we had the chance to meet you and the concert at the Zenith of Paris will remain in our hearts, and we were lucky to have been able to travel to London for the sold out concert in the legendary Palladium. The Zenith of Paris was fabulous and a unforgettable moment for us and for you too I think (you told in Lodz that you were waiting for this concert) There are no words to describe the magic and emotion felt in Paris, your voice and magnificent interpretation from start to finish, the beautiful cohesion between all of you, a powerful and magnificent sound, a dazzling light show highlighting FEAR and the pleasure shared with the audience of a filled Zenith. A total happiness ... THE SPACE with the classic band remains and will remain a highlight of the evening, moving, captivating, the orchestra bringing a new dimension to the music of Marillion. Simply sumptuous. For all this we want to say thank you from the bottom of our heart and wish you all our best wishes for 2018 xx

Muriel et Stéphane.

Hi Steve,

I just wanted to pop by and voice my appreciation for the Uden gig that you performed on the 16th.
As an Australian, I never thought that I would have the opportunity to see you perform live. As fate would have it, the universe co-ordinated a bizarre (and fortunate) sequence of events that found me sitting in a chapel in Uden NL, enjoying your company on one cold December night. And what a night it was! You sang, joked, and read to us; we cheered, laughed, and knocked over bottles at the most inconvenient times. The we all laughed some more.

Thanks again mate, I feel truly privileged.

Have a great Christmas!
Garry

Entry no. 620 from Greg from Krakow on December 21, 2017 at 4:20 am

Hello Steve!
Again this is Greg who proposed to Anita in Glasgow few years ago.
First of all I would like to wish you a Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year! :)
Yesterday I was reading Polish The Web Magazine about Marillion Weekend in Lodz. All the great memories returned. How great that weekend was... Our unborn son was with us there in second row each night. And yesterday I was carrying him in our apartment and we were listening This Strange Engine. When you started singing "Daddy came out the navy and took us away" it was too much for me. I cried... like a baby. I was so touched... Thank you
I hope we'll have an opportunity to meet once again. Sometimes we talk with Anita about that night when I proposed to her in Glasgow. What a magical night it was. Standing and chatting with you on backstage when crowd was calling you for an encore, wow. You cannot imagine how stressed I was but when a man lives for moments like that.
Hope for h natural show in Krakow next year :)

Merry Christmas Steve!

Entry no. 619 from Roel on December 15, 2017 at 9:24 am

Dear Steve,

I would love to hear you sing "Message to My Girl" too! But since Annelien already asked for it, I can request another one of my newly recovered favorites:
I recently went to see the Alan Parsons Project and while they were playing "Old and Wise" I thought it would be a great "H Natural"-song. Don't you think?

See you tomorrow,

Roel

Entry no. 618 from Annelien on December 12, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Dear h, thank you for a fantastic evening in Rhede. I was blown away by the fact that you played Message to my girl by Split Enz. It’s one my favourite songs. As I told you, I wanted to email you on Sunday and request it, because I thought you could totally pull it off and do a better job than Neil Finn. However, I forgot to email you. So, you can imagine my surprise when I heard the first notes of the song. Especially since I don’t recall you ever playing it before! So thank you, thank you, thank you! x Please, pretty please, play it again in Uden on Saturday.

PS Hope you like the gifts. They’re handmade (by me) and one of a kind. There’s a story behind all of them. I named yours ‘the two sides of mr h’, representing your shiny polished stage presence and the private mr h with multiple layers.

See you on Saturday!

Love,
Annelien

Good evening sweetheart,

Where can I buy the complete edition of the invisible man diaries ?
I don't find it and it sold out anywhere.. It will be a perfect gift for Christmas !

The girl who waited for you under the rain at la maroquinerie.
(Ps: Thanks to sign my concert ticket !)

Hi H
I´m an infectious diseases specialist from Argentina. AIDS is still a big problem around the world were people are getting infected. The last years, the ages of people newly infected lowered down to 20-35 years.
I´m listening to your music forever and so I would suggest that HIV deserves a song. Maybe there´s something about it in "The Univited Guest" but I think people need a clearer message to get aware of this big problem, of which, shamefully, there´s still no much talk.
This is what Charlize Teron said in a recent speech in an AIDS Meeting:
"We have all we need to prevent the spreading of AIDS, so, why dont we stop this epidemic?
It´s said that is too expensive, too stigmatized, too politicized. AIDS is not only sexually transmitted. It´s transmitted by racism, sexism, homophobia, poverty and ignorance. HIV dont discriminate, we do. We value more the whites than the blacks, the men than the women, heterosexual love than homosexual love, the rich than the poor.
To end AIDS, first we have to get cured of all this other things"
Thanks a lot for you music
Kind regards

Great gig on Friday in Liverpool, I thought you're voice was on point. Would love to see you and the rest of the band in the new year in the philly, but I get quite scared in big crowds. This is due to me being in a massive crash with a HGV on the m6 and being trapped for a while. Hopping with more counselling I will be able to see the band. Hope you and the family have a amazing Xmas

Hi Steve
Myself and my daughter Helena saw you in Liverpool last Friday. The show as always was amazing .... Nothing to declare was awesome and I thought your words around Donald Campbell we’re inspiring and moving.

Looking forward to Madrid on Thursday.... a great birthday present .... any chance you could play White Paper and say hello to my partner Rachel who will be with me and absolutely loves your music
All the best
Steve

Entry no. 612 from JOHN ATTEWELL from LIVERPOOL on December 4, 2017 at 9:26 am

Hello Steve,
Superb performance in Liverpool on Friday night. Thank you for squeezing Liverpool in, Christmas doesn't begin until we have had a visit from your good self.
A solution to the question issue, could be to get people to write the questions down on a piece of paper, and you could draw them out of a hat at your leisure, saying "ooo heres a question from John from Kirkby, wheres John ??" John raises his hand shouts "here !!"
"ok it says, if you could go back to any point in time and witness it for yourself, where would you go to?"

An interview type thing with Mike, would be nice, but I do prefer the way the questions sometimes blindside you, and can take the evening in a completely different direction.

Have yourself a very merry Christmas, and I shall see you in April, got front and central for the Philharmonic, so can't wait for that

regards

John
