  Hi Steve!

I am really enjoying your diaries, perfect reading for semi-holiday whiles by the pool. I had followed your previously selected entries (website, h natural shows…) and now appreciate the whole lot as an exciting gift. It somehow satisfies an old fantasy of hiding as a stowaway in one of your flight cases or becoming an invisible voyeur presence in your tour bus, hotels and venues of course! The “Colours & Sound” DVD was by the way a fascinating experience in that respect. So I am looking forward to the second volume of the journal (hoping for references to the shows I attended!). Thank you Mr. H!!

P.S. Had a lot of fun (so did my kids) with the ‘Dinosaur Thing’ video. I didn’t even know it existed.

I have just read the mother's experience of war in Gaza (link posted by h this month) What can I say... Feel so helpless in my relative paradise...and can only hope the love and peace I send out to civilians in Gaza from my tiny pocket of reality reaches them and helps in some way. Hats off to you h for your 'campaigning'. Spread the word, send love and peace...The more that send the more goes around x

  Hi Steve,

Loved listening to you on the radio last weekend - great stuff! Cracking choices and also discovered stuff I hadn't really listened to before like Joni Mitchell and The Police track. Love Talk Talk and the Blue Nile with the awesome Jeff Buckley thrown in! Thanks for that :) I hope you do it again soon!

Gaza managed to sound even more incredible on the radio for some reason and I discovered bits I hadn't heard before. Great stuff and unfortunately very apt at the present time... sad times :(

Best wishes

Will x

  Dear Steve,

I don’t agree with you when you write: “At times like this, I feel that writing a song is like whispering into a hurricane.” Because like W. B. Yeats, your words may be terribly prophetic (“You sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind…”).
When reason of State crushes the Human Rights, it’s very hard to stop it. Of course, it’s a shame but it’s a tragic reality…
I’m with Jewish people when they march against the nationalist Hungarian government who wants to rewriting History and I’m against them when they murder more than thousand people in Gaza.
(Sorry for my bad English).

Finally I could make it and I am listening to you at the radio :). You have very good tastes, but I already knew that :).
Great selection! And I loved very much the song you played from Isildurs Bane, song that I didn´t know.
I am enjoying a lot, while chatting with some friends on Facebook who also are listening to you :)
Hope I can make it tomorrow, too!

Loving the book, H. Really insightful and thought provoking. Been promoting it and you/Marillion to all who will listen and the videos of the weekenders seem to be helping. Nobody works a crowd like you guys!
Really hoping to catch you live again soon. Keep up the good work!

  Hi Steve,
Just watched "you dinosaur thing" video.Ha Ha it was great. I do think that you and the rest of the lads should put together a dvd of all the random vids you find of earlier songs. It would be amazing and any outtakes you have. It could be the Marillion christmas dvd special.
On a more sober note I clicked on the link for that poor mother in Gaza. How can anyone live that way and the fear of those poor children. War is a truly terrible and totally destructive thing. The innocent suffer.
Love your family and keep them close to your heart.

Love Chrissie

Steve the link for the Gaza article is harrowing. I have today sent it on to my MP Mark Francois and asked him to raise the matter in the House of Commons. I want to know why the Government is effectively supporting the slaughter of innocent people by not speaking out against the actions of the Israeli military. As you do not, I do not take sides but this is simply an atrocity and cannot be allowed to continue. I would ask that all of your fans raise this matter with their MP in the UK or government representative in whichever country they reside. We need to protest strongly at what is happening and stop it now. Sorry to go on but I feel very strongly about this and deeply saddened for these people. Thanks Ian

Hi Steve. My birthday today so sitting watching the Montreal Sunday night DVD. STUNNING. Now looking up flights to see if i can afford to go out for the weekend next year. What hotel do you guys stay at? Watching Gaza today is more relevant than ever. Your insight and commentary within the song hit the nail on the head. I am so sad for those poor people. Perhaps raise money for them at your natural gigs? Look forward to seeing you at the 100 club in October. Sad Enchanted cancelled as was looking forward to a great day there. Thanks for all your great work and making what can be a shitty world a better place. All the best Ian

  Dear Steve,

I’ve just seen some comments about Gaza on your Facebook page. Maybe people should read Emmanuel Levinas, Edward Said or Philip Roth...

Anyway, thank you again for this song.

As our recent interview for Music Street Journal is about to be published, I wanted to stop in here and thank you again for your time and patience answering my often long-winded questions. I hope we have occasion to speak again one day - after talking to you, I felt like a plant that had been watered. :)

By the way - per your recommendation, I ordered Galeano's book Mirrors. Marvelous stuff.
